Product Feature: Skin Balms to Soothe Every Inch of You
Hello again, honeys! Last time, we discussed beeswax and its benefits, giving you all some insight as to why we use it in all of our products. Now, I want to talk to you about one specific product line that, of course, has organic beeswax in it and which I feel can be useful to anyone, no matter what skin they’re wearing. As I briefly mentioned in the last post, Drew has recently released a line of skin balms that are, like the rest of his products, all organic. I want to take the time to tell you all a bit more about these balms, because they certainly deserve more than one line in a post!
There are three skin balms currently available from Drew’s Honeybees: Rejuvenating, Vitality, and Rosebud Reserve. All of them — per our standard — contain only organic ingredients in different combinations depending on your skin’s needs. The first two in particular are, in my opinion, especially helpful during this time of year. The holidays are hectic for everyone – from shopping for gifts to putting up decorations to a non-stop flow of holiday parties, so who couldn’t use a bit of rejuvenation or vitality?
All three balms contain another favorite ingredient of Drew’s – jojoba seed oil. More formally known by its scientific name of Simmondsia chinensis, jojoba oil is derived from a desert shrub found in a few southwestern American states. Having been used by Native Americans for quite some time, the oil has begun to replace many other common moisturizer ingredients as a base, due it being odorless and colorless once refined. This makes it easy to mix with other essential oils without risk of scent interaction. More importantly, however, is that unlike other vegetable oils, jojoba oil closely resembles sebum, the waxy substance that our skin glands naturally produce.
Along with jojoba seed oil, the skin balms contain a host of other natural, organic ingredients to give you the outcome you’re looking for. Rejuvenating has only five ingredients – camellia seed oil, jojoba seed oil, beeswax, helichrysum essential oil, and rosemary leaf extract, all of which work together to not only heal but to give tired skin the boost it desperately craves. Vitality is made up of more than five ingredients, but that doesn’t stop it from being entirely organic and natural as well. Ingredients such as sandalwood oil and vanilla fruit extract help make this balm soothing and comforting, something I think all of us need a bit of during the winter months.
The three balms are currently available through the Drew’s Honeybees website, and each come in 2-ounce jars priced at $12.99 each. Remember, profits from every purchase made go to funding bee research and helping the bee population, something we all can benefit from. After all, it is the season to Do Some Good™.
